BFCM 2026 creative checklist for Shopify brands

Black Friday is a deadline for assets you can defend, not a reason to restyle the catalog. Photos first, then a hook, then the sizes your buyer will actually traffic.

Published Oct 28, 2026 · 8 min · My Shopify Winner editorial

BFCM does not need a new brand. It needs the product you will actually ship, an offer you can keep, and creative that matches the product page on the morning the sale starts. A small Shopify team can do that. A pile of generated frames that look like a different SKU cannot.

This is a production checklist. It names tools already in the directory, in the order a founder usually needs them: stills, then a spoken or on-screen hook, then static sizes. It is not a forecast. It does not say what will win, what to spend, or what a “good” click rate is. Confirm every plan on the vendor site. Pricing labels on this site are filters, not quotes.

Lock the product photos before you open a video tool

Most wasted BFCM creative starts here: the ad shows a bottle, a shoe, or a pouch that is not the one in the cart. Fix the stills first. You need three kinds of frame, and you do not need all three for every SKU.

  • A clean packshot. Transparent or simple ground, edge intact, label readable. Start with Photoroom, Remove.bg, Claid.ai, or Pixelcut. Photoroom is the listing editor in this directory: backgrounds, batch, and a listing studio. Remove.bg is the fast cutout.
  • One lifestyle background from a packshot you trust. Pebblely and Mokker are filed for that speed. Treat the result as a test frame. Check the contact shadow, the product color, and whether the label text survived.
  • A composed scene or an on-model frame, only if the offer is a look and not a SKU grid. Flair.ai is the canvas for scenes and campaign stills. Apparel that needs a body goes to Botika or Modelize, not to a background swap.

If you are choosing among Photoroom, Pebblely, and Flair.ai, read the editorial comparison. They do not do the same job. The product photo hub is the full shelf.

Photo checklist

  1. Name the SKUs that will carry the offer. A hero, the bundle, and the awkward one with small type or a reflective surface. Not the whole catalog.
  2. Pull a real photograph of each. Supplier packshot is fine. A text description of the product is not.
  3. Cut it out. Zoom the handle, the liquid line, the heel, the foil, the stitching. If the edge is a smear, do not put it in an ad.
  4. Make one lifestyle frame. If the shadow floats or the color shifts, throw the frame out. Do not “fix it in the ad.”
  5. Put the still on the product page before it goes in a campaign. The page and the ad have to be the same object.

Batch the rest of the offer SKUs only after the hero survives that check. Photoroom and Claid.ai are the names in this directory for repeating a treatment. A batch that copies a bad edge just makes more bad edges.

Write the hook before you generate UGC

UGC tools render a person saying a script, or a product URL turned into a clip. They do not decide the offer. If you do not have one sentence you are willing to print on the product page, do not open a video tool yet.

In this directory, Arcads is actor-style video from a brief. Creatify and Topview are URL-to-video. MakeUGC is another actor workflow. HeyGen and Synthesia are spokesperson and avatar video when the job is a person delivering lines, not a creator-style demo. invideo is the script-to-video editor if you already have footage or a script and need a cut. The UGC hub lists the rest. The longer sort is the UGC guide.

Hook checklist

  1. Write the offer in one sentence. Price, bundle, or deadline. If the sentence is vague, the video will be vague.
  2. Write one objection you actually hear. Fit, ingredients, shipping window, what is in the box. Skip the objection you wish people had.
  3. Generate two hooks, not a folder. Watch each once with sound and once without. If it only works with the caption, it is a static, not a video.
  4. Check the product in the frame against the packshot you locked. If the color, the cap, or the logo drifted, delete the clip.
  5. Read every on-screen claim out loud. If you would not put that sentence on the product page, it does not go in the ad.

Localization is a second pass. HeyGen and MakeUGC are the listings that mention it. Do not translate a hook you have not approved in the original language. A wrong offer in two languages is not a test.

Make statics from the offer, not from a new idea

Static ads are the sizes. Feed, square, and story of the same offer. They are not three different promotions. The product in the frame should be the file you already approved, or a crop of it. Generating a fresh product “in the style of” the catalog is how the sale starts with a mismatch.

AdCreative.ai generates and scores ad images, copy, and video variants. Use the score as a sort, not as a reason to ship a claim you did not write. Predis.ai builds social and ad creative from a product link and a prompt. Canva Magic Studio is the practical resize and layout bench once you have a frame you trust. Adobe Firefly is the generative image tool in the ads shelf when you need a background or a variation and you will check it by hand. Smartly.io is the enterprise automation listing. If you do not already run that kind of system, BFCM week is the wrong week to start.

The ad creative hub is the full static shelf. The stack guide is the argument for keeping photo, UGC, and statics as three lanes instead of one login.

Static checklist

  1. One offer. Three sizes. If the story frame needs a different headline to fit, shorten the same sentence. Do not invent a second discount.
  2. Paste the approved packshot or lifestyle file in. Do not re-generate the product.
  3. The price, the bundle, and the deadline in the image match the product page the morning you launch. Change both, or change neither.
  4. Delete any badge, star row, percentage, or “review count” the generator drew. If you did not type the number, it is not yours to publish.
  5. Export the three sizes with the same file name stem so the buyer can tell they are one concept.

Run it in this order

There is no magic date on this page. The order is the point. Teams that generate video on Monday, stills on Wednesday, and then notice the label is wrong spend the sale week fixing the product instead of the offer.

  1. First, lock stills for the offer SKUs and update the product pages. Use the photo category if you still need a tool for the missing frame.
  2. Next, approve two hooks against those stills. Use the UGC category. Kill the clip that shows a different product.
  3. Then cut the three static sizes from the approved still and the approved sentence. Use the ads category.
  4. The week the sale is live, do not restyle the product and do not add a tool. If the discount changes, change the offer line on the page and in the three sizes. Leave the product file alone.
  5. After the sale, keep the concept you would run again and archive the rest. Take the countdown off the page when the countdown is over.

A second tool in the same lane is optional and usually late. If Photoroom already produced a packshot you trust, do not also subscribe to a second cutout tool for the same SKUs this month. Overlap is how the creative budget disappears. The free vs paid guide is the note on when a free plan is enough.

Questions operators ask

Do I need new product photos for BFCM?
Only if the current ones fail the checks: edge, color, label, and a match between the page and the ad. A sale is not a reason to restyle a catalog that is already honest. If the packshot is thin, fix that SKU with Photoroom or a cutout tool before you generate ads around it.
Which tool should I buy first?
The one for the asset you are missing. Stills, if the product page is weak. A hook tool such as Arcads or Creatify, if the stills are fine and you have no video. A static tool such as AdCreative.ai or Canva Magic Studio, if you have a sentence and no sizes. Do not buy all three on the same day.
Can I generate the product from a prompt?
Not for the master. Start from a photograph of the product you sell, then use an editor or a scene tool. Prompted products drift. Check the edge, the color, and the label text on every frame you keep. Pebblely and Flair.ai are for staging a product you already captured.
How many variants are enough?
Two hooks and three sizes of one offer is a complete first set for a small brand. More variants are useful after you know which sentence you are willing to repeat. A folder of unwatched clips is not a test.
Does a sponsorship change this checklist?
No. This page is editorial. A vendor can buy a labeled placement on the sponsor page. That purchase does not add a sentence here, and it does not remove a competitor. If a tool on this page is marked Sponsored elsewhere, the directory says so on the tool page.
